This model explains friendship throughout our ten years as friends, so far we have been through 9 of the ten steps; Initiating, Experimenting, Intensifying, Integrating, Bonding, Differentiating, Circumscribing, Stagnating, and Avoiding, Terminating would be the last step we have not gone through yet. I will describe all the stages that we have been through individually in each of the following paragraphs. Initiating I meet Jeremy when I was 17 years old, I was introduced by a mutual friend Jason at a party that Jeremy and his brother Justin were having. Jason told me about this party that we should go to, I asked him who was throwing the party he said his friends Jeremy and Justin, I told him I didnt know them, he said he would introduced me to to them and that I would like them â€Å"they were cool†, I agreed to go. We drove up to Jeremy and Justins house, we were greeted by Justin, who wasnt happy that Jason brought a stranger to his house, Jason talked with Justin while I sat in the car. I followed Jason to the back yard where there was a camp fire burning with some people I didnt know standing around it talking with each other. I walked up and was greeted by Jeremy with a handshake and he said â€Å"whats up, nice to meet you the beer is in the cooler, help yourself†. I thanked him and helped myself to the beer, I didnt speak with him again until later that night, thats when the next step experimenting began. Module 4/ Assignment 2: Reflection Paper 3 Experimenting Later that night after everyone had passed out from drinking, Jeremy, Justin, and I were the only ones still awake. We started to talk and find out more about each other, as we talked, we found out that we had a lot of similarities. We both like muscle cars, we had the same ideas and beliefs about what the â€Å"dream car† would look like, what kind of motor, and how much hp (horsepower) it should have, it was a smoke black 1969 Camaro SS with red racing strips and a blown 502 Merlin big-block pushing out 1500 hp. We talked about this car for a few hours, then Jeremy and Justin said that I am welcomed to stop by and hangout anytime, because I was the only one who could â€Å"hang with them†( drink as much and not pass out) at a party. After that night I started to hangout more and more with Jeremy and Justin drinking and getting to know each other, we started to become good friends. Intensifying As our friendship progressed, we started hanging out more and more, going to parties together, doing favors like borrowing money from each other, he would buy the beer one night and I would would buy the next night. This was about the time when we started to plan a trip we called the â€Å"Cali Cruise† witch was we would build and restore a 1981 Pontiac Trans AM. Then we would take two weeks off of work and drive up and down the coast of California, stopping to party along the way. Bonding This the stage were Jeremy and I became roommates. We rented a three bedroom house with a garage to start working on the Trans AM. By this time were you seen one of us the other wasnt to far away. We did everything together, we even worked at the same manufacturing plant. We pretty much shared everything with each other, we were â€Å"BestFriends†. Module 4/ Assignment 2: Reflection Paper 4 I would refer to his mother as mom and vise versa. Differentiating This is where we started to show each other that we were different. It stared with one weekend, we made plans without each other I went out with some of my other friends without Jeremy and that triggered the start. We werent hanging out as much anymore, I was dating Krista who would be the mother of my child in the future. I started to spend more and more time with Krista. Circumscribing This is point in our friendship were it started to decline. I was spending more and more time with Krista. Jeremy would invite me to a party or to go hangout and work on the Trans AM, I would tell him I have already made plans with Krista, I would now just occasionally go out with Jeremy maybe once or twice a month and every time we would hangout we would argue about Krista, how I shouldnt ditch my friends all time to be with Krista. Avoiding At this point I move out and moved in with Krista who was pregnant at time. I started a new job Drilling, Jeremy and I stop hanging out all together and ignoring phone calls, not answering text for days at a time. We are still in this point of our friendship to this day, he lives in Utah and I live in Arizona now. We havent talked for about a year now, we do still consider each other as friends, but we dont talk anymore and every time we do, we still try to make plans to visit and still talk about the â€Å"Cali Cruise†.
